Safety Devices just announced a 130 external cage on their site. It's sure to be more attractive than a P&P cage. Don't know what availability is yet though.

I am in the market for a cage myself. SD and PPcages both make great products from what I understand. ECR has the market in the USA for SD. PP Cages you can get direct or through distributers. PP Cages are made in the UK and can be quite customized per order and the SD is made in Poland.

After weighing the options I will probably go with PP Cages. They will export with no VAT.

I don't get the aesthetic bias against PP. Unless it is for purely aesthetic reasons, get whatever will do the job the best.

Just the lines seem to be nicer on SD cages. SD has been making them for rovers forever. You look at camel trophy trucks and you see SD cages. I have no doubt PP cages are good. Just they look like copies of the real thing.

I tried getting an SD cage through a US distributor (great service BTW) and SD could not deliver within ~ 6-7 months with a best case ETA of another 8, with a pre-paid order. Perhaps SD is willing to produce the more common exo cages, but they certainly were not eager to produce a CT style cage for my 110. If one were to try to acquire an out of the ordinary SD cage, I wish them well in their adventure.

Looking at an ad for PP in Land Rover Owner International, it seems they have some cool products. External cage is still ugly but they have cool items like light mounts and internal cages, etc. Tried looking on their site but the site sucks. Can't figure out what they really even offer.

After talking with a few of PP Cages distributers it seems that the cages are built to order. So if you intend to put lights on or a roof rack you can tell them and they will integrate all the mounts for you. They are a little more than SD....

Gustavo has a Dan Evans external cage on his red prius. Perhaps he can post some pictures and or comment on the install.

Dan is a pretty cool guy. Aside from making cages he's also a bit of an adventurer.

I have installed the PP cage and installing the SD cage. I would go with the SD cage. I like the quality and install of the SD much better.

would you like fries w/ that?

Im sure the quality of the P&P is great....but they dont do much for the overall appearance of the truck....sort of looks like a Rover in a big hair net.
