110 suspension

I am looking to get new springs and shocks, prefer heavy duty....can someone give me some recommendations. Only want 1 inch lift.

Also looking to add new footwells, I am not sure how to remove the old, can anyone give me some advice.

Thanks,

Brett

I'm running the Land Rover HD springs and Bilstein shocks on my truck. Seems to be a popular combination. I like the ride OK, but I don't have anything to compare it to since this set-up was on my truck when I bought it.

I just installed Terrafirma HD springs and Fox Shox, waiting to test them out.

What kind of lift does this give.. I need to do so e suspension work on a 110 and he can not afford to really go much higher then stock due to parking in a garage.. What are a good set of springs and shocks for a 110?

These springs are giving me about 2" max lift. Seems like all the springs are about the same price, so if you don't want lift, go stock or OME.

I have just installed a set of heavy duty old Man Emu springs and shock kit from Rovers North...you have to think about where your vehicle is going to finish up once you put on a front brush bar and winch etc etc...and then loading up the back with stuff and then if you have oversized tyres etc etc... I have all of this and decided on the OME kit...why..??... becuase in my opinion they are the best...why are they the best..??...because they are australian...LOL...

If you want only about an inch of lift and a good ride, go with the Land Rover HD springs and Bilsteins. I can still fit in the garage (barely).

Interesting. Which springs are you using? Why not just heavy duty all around?

There used to be a good comparison chart for springs here: http://rovers.red90.ca/
But the link seems to be broken. Maybe Red90 can fix it? I think it's his page.

Old Man Emu heavy duty on my 110. It is exactly what I wanted, ride is not too hard and it corners quite well..

I'm not sure about the springs, if they are OE then I think they are HD land rover ones it is a camel trophy 110 that only had 8000 miles on it when I got it. As for the shocks I opted to add the second set in the back because of a few things:
1. Camel trophy trucks had it
2. They had it to allow for a smoother ride at high speed when empty but still have the ability to dampen with a full load of gear.

I have noticed the difference although I had front and rear sway bars put on as well and now it's not scary to drive

I should say that yes it is a real camel trophy no it didnt come w quad shocks bc it was not a competition truck it was a prescout truck

One other question how Dow you know if you need new springs? Just trying to figure out what should replace as new as I am installing my new chassis and have the truck apart.

It doesn't pay to order both from rn. Order the springs from rn and the shocks from shock warehouse for the best deal

I have a set of Scorpion Racing springs for a 110. Let me check tonight and let you know. They are brand new and I'll give you a good deal on them.
