1.4:1 LT230 needed ASAP

who says you can't blow an LT230? 5 years with an underdrive will do it.... catastrophically.

prefer 1.4 ratio, will consider a 1.6. needs to have 26 tooth input gear.

I have a good 1.6 t-case with cross-driiled input shaft and it has the 26 tooth input gear you need for the underdrive.
With 35" tires or bigger I think the 1.6 and an underdrive is an excellent combination, but with smaller tires I'd use a 1.2.
$350 plus shipping.

Clark

It takes 5 minutes to replace the input gear.

Pretty sure it is 26 tooth which is what came stock in a 1993 NAS 110. I can pull the inspection cover if you want.

I've got a 1.4 now and kind of like that ratio with my setup. Ron is going to pull the inspection cover on his 1.4 and give it a looksee for me. if it dosn't look good, i'll be going with your 1.6.

Thaks guys.

it won't be 26 tooth unless it was modified. The 1.4 D110 or the 1.67 t-case have the 26 tooth and they match up for an underdrive.

If you're keeping your underdrive then you won't be using the input gear right ?
So it doesn't matter if the splines are worn. (Or am I misunderstanding how these things fit together.)

right-o matt. normally i wouldn't have screwed with a case that has gotten to the point of spline wear though, but pickins were slim for a 1.4 and i no longer throw wads of cash at this thing like i used to.

what i throw wads of cash at now: mine is the blue one.

thanks ron, t-case is in. guts looked surprisingly good. i have a more wine on overrun than normal, but very quiet while in the throttle. gear lash looked good, so i think it's just two diffferently worn gears getting to know each other. ran it around for an hour or so, seems to be quieting down.

check in the mail today.

Thanks Lyman. She seemed nice inside when I pulled the cover.

Ron

BTW for future reference, spline wear happens very early on (like 30k) and has zero impact on the rest of the case. The downside with spline wear is buying the expensive cross drilled input gear to fix it.
